Baby Blue 3D Text

By Magesh Kumar   Posted at  12:50 AM   Photoshop No comments

There's so many different things you can do with this,  I finally settled on one to show you. We're going to make some clean 3D text with some of the built in effects in Photoshop 5!
As with most tutorials, the values need to be a little different depending on the size of
the text you're going to use. Try getting your font size closest to my font for your first try. I used Franklin Gothic Bold.

1.Fill Background with Baby Blue. Use the Type Tool and make some text ( fat text works good like a real baby butt! ), choose white for color and click OK.
Now select "Overlay" from the layer pop down menu.

2. Next go to  Layer > Effects > Drop Shadow. Copy the settings I have shown on the left, Also make sure you choose a dark blue shadow color like you see on my menu.

3.Hold down the Control key, while its down, click on the type layer.  NowSelect>Modify>Expand Enter 2 pixels.
Ok press the "M" key. Move the selection 1 pixel to the right and 1 pixel down with the arrow keys on the keyboard.
Edit > Copy Merged, Now make the Type layer Invisible by clicking on the "eye". Ok now paste:Edit>Paste.

4. Make a regular drop shadow behind the text to pop it out a little, use the Photoshop Effects again to do it fast.
Use Brightness/Contrast,  I added about 40+ Brightness to freshen it up a little.
